What is corrective exercise?
Corrective exercise is used with individuals who have dysfunction as a result of injuries and chronic pain. The body is extremely efficient and will find the path of least resistance, typically recruiting its’s strongest muscles. Corrective exercise specialists work to eliminate asymmetry in the body’s alignment. This results in reduced chronic pain and increased functional movement. For more information, check out this page.
What can I expect during my session?
The first visit is helpful in gathering pertinent medical history and lifestyle information. You will meet with one of our Head Practitioners and will be given a thorough static and dynamic postural evaluation. We may put you though specific range-of-motion exams relevant to your health concerns. After our evaluation, we will design an individualized corrective exercise program and bring you through it, taking the time to re-evaluate our work along the way to ensure we are taking steps in the right direction. After the program is complete, we will reschedule you and send you home with a detailed copy of your program to perform outside of our office until your next session.
